Restoring Communication, Enabling Healing

Consider your nervous system in State College PA the command center for your body. The brain controls the entire body, and most of that information flows through the spinal cord and out the spinal column through the nerves. Simple misalignments of the spine can interfere with that communication between the brain and organs and virtually every cell in the body.

Those cells need the brain to function correctly, and interference to that system creates disease and problems. “My job as a chiropractor is to identify and eliminate interference or subluxation, and allow the body to heal itself and function optimally,” said Dr. Hildebrand

Benefits of Chiropractic Care in State College PA

Given the nation’s opioid crisis, one of the biggest benefits of chiropractic is it’s a natural, safe and effective way of relieving pain. Chiropractic has many other benefits: it boosts the immune system, improves mood, promotes optimal functioning, enhances sleep, increases energy and so much more.

Conditions We See

Here are some common conditions for which patients seek our care:

What to Expect

We will take X-rays and palpate to determine if segments within your spine are functioning properly or not. If they’re functioning properly, we don’t adjust, but if there’s any restriction and lack of movement or the bones are out of position, then we will adjust.

A Critical Piece of the Wellness Puzzle

Here, we teach people that chiropractic is a vital piece of the health and wellness puzzle, as well as a good diet, adequate sleep, and positive thoughts. “You don’t need ibuprofen or chronic use of medications to thrive and be healthy. What you do need is exercise, diet, good thoughts and proper nerve supply,” said Dr. Hildebrand.

Our Techniques

For most patients, we use manual adjustments, including the Diversified Technique. Dr. Hildebrand also uses the Activator®, which is an instrument to provide gentle, light-force adjustments. This method is ideal for children and seniors. One of our patients is an older woman who wasn’t comfortable lying down. So we just adjusted her seated using the Activator, and she got better quickly.

With Prone Specific, another gentle method, a patient lies face down, and Dr. Hildebrand adjusts the neck the whole way down through the pelvis and even some extremities.

We also have drop pieces at the practice that can be used for extremity adjustments.

Dr. Hildebrand can offer patients different adjustment options depending on their tolerance level. It’s important to note that it doesn’t take a lot of force to get an effective adjustment.
